RES Engineering Delivers New Titanium Safety Valves for Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant: On December 26, 2024, it was reported that RES Engineering successfully completed the first delivery of titanium safety valves. An article titled “Properties of Cast Titanium Alloys and Their Applications in Valve Manufacturing” noted that titanium alloys, with their low density (4.5g/cm³), high specific strength (strength-to-density ratio over three times that of steel), excellent corrosion resistance (resistant to seawater, strong acids, etc.), and adaptability to extreme temperatures (-253°C to 600°C), have become strategic materials in modern industry. In valve manufacturing, cast titanium alloys enable high-performance production of complex structural components through precision forming processes. For example, a valve body made of ZTC4 titanium alloy reduces weight by 42% compared to 316L stainless steel, while extending service life by over three times.

JRJ.com reported that Bolang Fluid Control (Zhejiang) Co., Ltd. was granted a patent for “A Bi-directional Hard-seal Floating Titanium Alloy Ball Valve” (authorization announcement number CN222479513U). This valve addresses the issue of insufficient sealing performance in traditional titanium alloy ball valves under bidirectional flow. Leveraging the material advantages of titanium alloy, an innovative design enhances sealing efficiency by using the medium’s pressure to push the ball tightly against the seat, dispersing spring pressure loads, improving sealing, and prolonging the valve’s service life.
